A friend of mine showed me an app that is pretty cool, free and has the useful components to track your food intake. If we're looking to get into ketosis, too many carbs and proteins can keep you from that goal. MyFitnessPal to the rescue!

Yes, this is a real day. I feel very satiated and only consumed 2000 calories. I'm not sure where to set the goal, but 55% is not my goal for carbs.

This is great because it shows me all of the carbs I've eaten, the types of fats etc. 25g of carbs is my daily goal. I also try to stay away from PUFA's and it seems I was successful.
With over 1 million foods to choose from, you'll find your main choices quickly. If not, you can put in recipes easily and copy them from one day to the next. Adding food with the barcode scanner is easy and fun.
The goal is to learn what foods work for you and stick with them. It's a great tool to make sure you're counting correctly. We were having a hard time getting into ketosis until we saw the total protein we were consuming was way over the guidelines of .6-1.0 gram per lb of lean body mass.

Boom, the product will be added to your food for the day. Just adjust the servings and you're done.

Tim & Lynette Jenné are learners first and foremost. We love to ask "why?" We question the status quo. We also love to research and find answers for ourselves. As parents of four adult children, we've learned a few things along the way that may be helpful to others. We love to live & eat clean, simple lives.
We are avid cyclists, in our mid to late 40's, who ride all over Northern California, it's a major part of getting younger next year.
